Cobra Seats

Im looking at getting a pair of Monaco seats for the pug...after a brief search, i see that you do not necessarily need to buy the Cobra Subframes, but an alternative (cheaper) will work.

Ive seen OMP stated amongst others.

What subframes have people used, and what do they recommend? prefer to save as much as i can really so i can spend it on other pug stuff.

Also, anyone recommend if its worth going for a vinyl covered seat as opposed to the normal fabric?

I made my own subframes with some thick steel plate.

2 bars across the bottom of the seat so they are wide enough for the 205 bolt spacing.

2 bars running forward bolted to the car then the bars that run across bolted to these.

I don't know what others thought, But Mine was really uncomfortable and I would not recommend the Monaco seat.

I found that with the monacos as well, I use Cobra Imola's now, far more comfortable.

I find them quite comfortable tbh, after a few hours I can ache a bit but I don't think they are to bad. :)

Trick - I would definietly recomend sitting in a variety of seats, even if it means visiting a few different shops. Its a bit of a pain but you'll be amazed how the comfort of each seat is different!

Yep I agree, I went and sat in some monacos before I bought them as people said they were nasty, but at the time for £120 for the pair I was happy. Going for some Sparco Evo's soon though. :)

I have a pair of cobra monaco's, and would agree there not the most comfortable seat in the world, but not bad value for money. Like some others on here i made my own subframes, saves you a fair bit! mine are cloth but i wouldnt advise going vinal especially in the summer weather as i imagine they make you hot and sweaty especially if your in shorts n t-shirt!

Cheers

Dave
