205johnnyxsi 0 Posted June 3, 2007 runs on to the petrol tank way. a few people has told me as well that i will have to take the petrol tank out, have a few bits to do to it like thats why i brought the fiesta, plus being 17 not having much expierance but learn quickly on these engines ect, but would be lost with out the fiesta would bin it if it wont so cheap to run haha 205 309s drink more than me
Mikey S 29 1 Cars Posted June 3, 2007 (edited) you dont have to take the tank out. alot of people say it, but i never have. you can get the around the tank either by undoing the tank mounting bolts and shifting it over or pushing them up very carefully into place. i would get the carb off your fiesta, strip it down and give it a good clean with some carb cleaner. they had a habit of splitting the diaphram (sp?) causing them to run crappy. you can get new ones for pennys from ford. My girlfriends fieste ran like crap, cold and hot... i told her to scrap it but she didnt , however in the end it was the diaphram. Rob_the_Sparky 9 Posted June 4, 2007 when im under the bonnet on my 1.6 and give a little rev sounds like a piston, tapping or h.t leads clicking, Most likely that will be a cracked exhaust manifold, very common and sounds just like a tappet except it gets louder with engine load. brianthemagical 1 Posted June 4, 2007 get a long screwdriver of extension bar and place it agianst an injector and slowly and carefully move your ear to it. it may be fairly obvious if it is the injectors.
