Radster 0 Posted June 3, 2007 Ok, my ominous knocking noise in left handers which I was hoping to be merely the cambelt cover hitting the MC turns out it isnt, its what I thought originally thought it felt like, not that I knew what the problem was. It appears that the driveshaft bearing has been once again knocked out of place, surely a LARGE amount of force would be required, unless ive just been incredibly unlucky having 2 go in short succession?!! Ive changed the gearbox mount as mine was split and thus pretty useless, could this allow engine movement enough for the weight of the box to be pushed against the bearing? I cant really think of much else which would cause it. The mount only got changed yesterday so this shaft might well have already taken enough of a beating to weaken it , so putting a new one of tomoz hopefully. Does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions, ive checked all the subframe bolts, the rear engine mount is solid and the top engine mount got checked over all. The passenger shaft I replaced we thought might be a bit long but after checking it against the old one we confirmed it was identical.... Is there anything in the box itself which could be shagged enough to push against the shaft?? I just expect this kind of thing now....
