Mi 16 Another Day Another Problem

Recommended Posts

tombo

ok so after we found out the problem with the the car and it being the woodruff keys we got the car all assembled and working fine.

s i took her for her maiden voyage last night all seemed great until as i were takin her to bed she started to miss a little.

now today it seemed fine also but after a while this missing starts to occur.

it feels like its running out of petrol and not getting enuf fuel,

does anyone have any idea what this could be?

Normski

A failing fuel pump? Dirt in the fuel system? Fuel filter needing renewed? Dodgy injector? Lots of possibilities really, you'll just need to be systematic and check over each part. Don't rule out the ignition system either.

As Normski has suggested check everything,Maybe a coolant sensor ???,Prob is with these older engines and looms that everything tends to be getting a bit ropey,I would suggest checking ALL the electrical connections ,make sure the little tangs are tight in all of the plugs and there is no corrosion present in any of them (green in colour),Make sure also all your earths are tight.

Maybe a plug or lead/dissy cap/rotor arm breaking down when hot ?

Had a similar prob with an Mi of mine a long tome ago, found in the end that one of the multiple crimps in the loom had water ingress in it causing corrosion and thus high resistance,Problem only reared its ugly head when it had been running for a while,I.e. when it got hot.

Had to strip the entire injection harness in the end in order to find it,Bloody thing...but then you learn from experience

Good luck m8 !
