spudmurphy 0 Posted June 1, 2007 Hi, I've been having issues with the central locking on the drivers door. It climaxed (oo-err) with the drivers door locking whilst the door was open and it wouldnt unlock Fortunately with the door being open it was relatively easy to take the door card off and get to the inside of the lock. There are two solenoids attached to the lock / handle / pin and it appears one of them has seized. I have removed the seized one from the car, well actually I've unfastened it from the door and dropped it down inside and all seems to be working fine again What is the second of the 2 solenoids for? I'm guessing its for a deadlock or similar, though I didnt think the 205 came with them? If it makes it any easier I think the one that is still attached was white, and the one I have removed is black. Many thanks, Spud
elrikos 0 Posted June 2, 2007 the black one will be an aftermarket one thats been added at some point to wire up your central locking to an alarm. AFAIK the standard pug item (white one) won't wire into alarms (unless its a very late car) so these extra motor are (usually) craply fitted alongside to add the feature. I'd just remove it and bin it. Rich
