Araldite For Injector Holes?

Recommended Posts

Richie-Van-GTi

Can you tell Ive been on the Merlot and my brains in overdrive :)

Im using a cut down MI mani for my R1 TB's (respaced), I want to block off the injector holes on either the manifold or the TB's, would araldite chemical metal stuff be OK for doing this? I cant weld alloy and dont want something that may crack and dissapear down a bore at 6000 RPM. :)

Araldite is fine if you get everything nicely clean, notch the bungs to make them an interference fit. Putting a thread in there precludes using injectors in there again later on, should you want to.

As inferno says, just drill and tap them (or get someone to do it like I did), then use some PTFE tape and some hydraulics fittings inside the holes.

I have 1 blank, 1 hosetail for the sunroof vacuum, and 2 hosetails for brake servo.

Can't you have them ali welded somewhere? I think that will look much better.

Sorry to hijack the thead. But i have just read your sig Hilgie, that 205 speedster sounds like a mental project. My hair scuffs the sun visors already, let alone with a 7" roof chop!!

@Pete: the seats are mounted directly on the floor, so that will give some clearance...or at least I hope it does ;)

you can check progress (although slow) here:
