sonofsam 5 Posted May 29, 2007 What you need to do is use a chisel/flat blade screwdriver and hammer it around undoing it, on the metal ring underneath were yours has broken off. There is a captive nut underneath. Hope that helps.
jackherer 543 Posted May 29, 2007 (edited) Hit it with a hammer and chisel on the metal ring. edit: too slow, less than a minute in it though Edited May 29, 2007 by jackherer
jas-E 1 Posted May 29, 2007 Hello all, Well when i replaced my cam belt and water pump i relised that my top engine mount was completly past it...... I had the exact same problem when i changed my cam belt. You really need to whack the life outta it!!Well whats left of it anyway.. I found that if you smack the bottom metal ring on the side, that shakes it up abit, then fit in a pry bar on the notches and go mental at it. It'll open eventually and once cracked you can open it with your hand.
sonofsam 5 Posted May 29, 2007 Also be aware that if the captive nut starts spinning or gets threaded, you will be in a whole new world of sh*t!
Edd-XS 0 Posted May 29, 2007 Also be aware that if the captive nut starts spinning or gets threaded, you will be in a whole new world of sh*t! Never has the term 'Kiln' been more appropriate! Or when the thread snaps off your brand new group N engine mount :S Edd
