All Praise The GTI 3 Posted May 28, 2007 tried searching with no avail... ive done the clutch and swapped in a 1.6 box on my new 1.9 and ever since the started made horrible noises when trying to start the car. it whines and turns over a few times then the engine started but then it just started clicking so i charged then changed the battery but it stil does it. it will start ocassionally but ive had to bump it a few times now. thought it was the immobiliser playing up at 1st but now im sure it must be the starter. it looks fairly new tho as it stil has a sticker on it. could i have done up the bolts too tight or dislodged the wiring? as it acts as if there is not enough power to turn engine over. any help or suggestions please???
