Kitch 4 Posted May 28, 2007 Bit of an odd one here. I've basically got hold of an old Citroen (1985) that has a 1.6 XU5 carb-fed engine. The cambelt has snapped and I'm pretty sure the valves are all smashed, although I haven't yet inspected it. I'm told 1.6 XU5 carb-fed heads are thin on the ground for these cars, so I was wondering if: 1) A 1.9 carb-fed head would fit, and are they easier to source? 2) If a carb-fed head can be easily (ish) replaced with a much easier to find injected head, like a 205 GTi or something 3) The same can be applied to the block, just incase it's smashed some pistons too. Many thanks in advance.
pug309twin40s 1 Posted May 29, 2007 i take it the engine is the same as used in the 309 1.6 carbs? if so i have a 309 1.6 carb auto with 54k miles you can have the engine from.
