Ahl 4 Posted May 27, 2007 That reads like a complete load of bollocks to me. Plus its written by themselves, on their own crappy website. One to avoid me thinks.
simonb 0 Posted May 27, 2007 Yeah, there is a definant element of hype there, but it's an interesting idea. I think they are trying it out on busses in France at the moment or something.
inferno 1 Posted May 27, 2007 so basicly stick a massive compresser in the boot to supply 'boost' instead of using a turbo?! no way lol, but the mobile airline would be usefull if you had a slow puncture!
Rippthrough 98 Posted May 28, 2007 One of the big german firms is working on it, 'cause I did some prelim work to set the project off years back. It's using 48v in-car systems though. The blower is about twice the size of a similar style supercharger, and the alternator is beefy to say the least.
simonb 0 Posted May 29, 2007 Sounds like an interesting project to be involved in. I take it the batteries needed would be ridiculous and would only be capable of providing boost for short periods? The boost must be delivered in a controlled way i'd imagine as a supercharger/turbo works in relation to engine speeds.
