johny105_y2k 1 Posted May 25, 2007 Hi done a search and http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?showtopic=11162 seems to contradict the problem i have. just put my engine and box back in and the clutch what went in was very good, nearly new. having adjusted the pedal to the very end of the cable the pedal is still very very high up and bites right at the top. i cant adjust it anymore or it'll come off. it obviousley `cant stay as it is its quite hard to drive. i'm at my wits end here would a new cable sort it out? cheers johny
Alastairh 47 Posted May 25, 2007 (edited) Theres usually roughly 25mm worth of thread left on the cable with the 10+13mm nuts on a decent cable. But basically, as you adjust the nuts in and out, watch how the pedal moves, and once its level with the brake pedal job done Alastair Edited May 25, 2007 by Alastairh
Grim.Badger 15 Posted May 25, 2007 After fitting a new engine I had a similar problem but the clutch settled down with use; try pressing the pedal repeatedly for a while and see if it starts to sink as the clutch settles. I also drove with the clutch pedal partially depressed which seemed to help.
Normski 1 Posted May 25, 2007 Is the plastic clip that holds the cable onto the gearbox located properly? Could be your problem.
