SimonJ 2 Posted May 25, 2007 Got the new engine in but didn't have time to do the last few small jobs so left it with the garage across the road to get it going. They have come back and said it's the wrong starter (which would account for the noise like a compressor driven wheelnut gun every time I've started it since that starter went in). It has nine teeth which the mechanic says is too few so I got one from a motor factors with 10 teeth but this still isn't right. Anyone had any experience of this? Not sure of the origin of the flywheel. Think it's the one I sent off to Skip Brown to get lightened and, assuming they sent me the same one back, it's from my 1.6. Thanks.
