rossi 0 Posted May 24, 2007 Has anybody removed their spare wheel cage from underneath the boot? Mine seem's to hang low, and is easily visible when viewing the car from the back? There's like 18 years worth of rust on the 2 ends which release the cage. Might have to resort to hacksawage. Do you just put your wheel in the boot if you've removed yours? johnnyboy666 195 1 Cars Posted May 24, 2007 ive taken mine off and just keep some of that tyre weld stuff with me in case of emergency, of course you could just keep the spare in your boot if you secured it to summit (ratchet straps might come in handy?) it should come off quite easily ( i think you have to turn it a certain way and then it just pops off but i cant quite remember)
pip470 61 Posted May 24, 2007 Theres a plastic clip on the right hand side that pops out enabling you to remove the cage. You can buy special kits from demon tweeks to hold your wheel but like johny says a rachet strap would be fine.

rossi 0 Posted May 25, 2007 Will probably get some of that tyreweld. it inflates the tyre after its sealed the puncture as well dont it?
GazRallye 0 Posted May 25, 2007 Does tyre weld not knacker the tyre tho, meaning a simple puncture repair renders the tyre useless as its full of gunk! Also, what if you have a blow out or the tyre gets shredded, its not gonna work, i'll always carry a spare the foam just doesn't convince me
