1.6 Too 309 Gti Brakes

hi,im just after some info regarding swapping the brakes on my 1.6 too use 309 rear beam and standard brakes with willwood midilite front brakes,

 

1: what do the compensators do? and will i need to use one for the rear brakes?

2: will the current system ie how it is split be ok or is the 1.9 one different.

 

any info would be great.
