quagmire 0 Posted May 24, 2007 What the hell is it with the fuel gauge on this thing (1.9) I put £10 in it goes o just over 1/4 then quickly comes down to just under 1/4. Done about 40 miles, come to a stand still and the red light starts to flicker. I start driving again and the red light goes off and the needle goes back up!? Why? Mikey G 3 Posted May 24, 2007 The bottom quarter of the fuel gauge is the most commonly used part of the sender unit so tends to wear out. You get a dead spot on the tracking and gives false readings when still.
sutol 0 Posted May 24, 2007 My old 106 is the same so I treat quarter of a tank as empty and all is well
quagmire 0 Posted May 24, 2007 So replace the sender unit and all will be well?
