GazRallye 0 Posted May 23, 2007 Went to my local motor factors today and they said there is a possibility of around 7 switches! By looking at the book they had there i managed to whittle it down to 2, but i'm unsure of which one still Should the xs be single or twin speed and what temp should it kick in at? my car was built in 89 but registered early 90 this is taken from another post 1264 16 - slow on at 84 and off at 79 - fast on at 88 and off at 83 (pre-1990) 1264 17 - slow on at 88 and off at 83 - fast on at 92 and off at 88 (pre-1990) 1264 18 - slow on at 93 and off at 88 - fast on at 97 and off at 92 (pre-1990) 1264 22 - slow on at 97 and off at 92 - fast on at 101 and off at 96 (pre-1990) 1264 27 - slow on at 84 and off at 79 - fast on at 88 and off at 83 (1990 on) 1264 45 - slow on at 97 and off at 92 - fast on at 101 and off at 96 (1990 on) Anyone help, i really need to sort this tomorrow thanks in advance
Anthony 1,003 Posted May 23, 2007 I'd go for a 126418 (93/88, 97/92) myself - hot enough that the fan won't be running in normal operation, but cold enough that the fan will keep the engine at a sensible temperature in traffic.
Guest cknotty Posted May 23, 2007 I had an Feb '90 registered XS, and the first fan switch I got for it was coming on far too early. Even just after a fast A road drive, when I got out the fast fan speed was on. Got another from ECP and that did the trick. What you want is 1264 18, the third one down.
