I thought the same when i was fitting mine, i can't remember which way round i fitted them but aren't the bolt sizes different for each end?

Very common question and I'm sure it was there just to confuse people,

The damper's only fit on one way around anyway but the damper body goes at the bottom.

You couldn't fit them the wrong way, the mounting bolts are a different size at each end so its impossble!!
