matt350cos 0 Posted May 22, 2007 I have just fitted the mi engine with bx loom and it wont start I removed a plug and sat it on the cam cover turned the engine over it sparked followed by jet of fuel followed by flames. plug back in still nothing. I have done a search checked the firing order still nothing. unplugged the air flow meter it back fired thats the most i have got out of it. Anyone got any advice? Mikey G 3 Posted May 22, 2007 And number 1 is the flywheel cylinder? Best check by getting number 1 upto the top of its compression stroke and see where the rotor arm is actually pointing. What i have noticed is when turning it over it almost fires up on the first few seconds then goes on to just turning over. i was thinking over fuelling so i have tried different air flow meter, idle control valve, ign amp and water temp sensor still no change oh and new fuel Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Mikey G 3 Posted May 23, 2007 Ok you have spark, hopefully in the right order. You got fuel out the plugs but is it too much or not enough is the question. You need to check your fuel pressure somehow, i have a little rig i plumb in inline to the rail, if you can sort something out make sure you are getting around 2.5-3 bar of pressure, no more and no less. While your there make sure the pipes are the right way around, the front side is the feed from the fuel filter the other side from the pressure regulator goes back to tank as a low pressure return.
