Low Hp Results, Gtech

Recommended Posts

HI, all

I do a test with a gtech performance meter in mi 1.6 cti after a full service an a xu10 head fitted and i got a 48 hp @ 5550 and a 41 lb/ft of torque. :o I use 2257 lb (estimated wight ) for the gtech setup.

I made the same with a 206 1.4 an i got 67hp@5550 and 71lb/*ft of torque, that sounds good.

I made the same with a izusu D-max 2.5 td an i got 40hp@3850 and 78 lb/*ft of torque, this engine make 105 hp ( flywheel) :)

Im confused because the car feels with good power and quick.

the car have new spark plugs and leads, distribuitor, air filter K&n (original replacement), xu10 head skimmed about 0.8 mm, 1.6 cam, vernier pulley. 45,650 km from new

What do i need to check:

Ignition timing, cam timing, compression test, fuel pressure, 0-100 time ?

No idea on the specs of that unit but some of the cheaper ones like the base end AP22 only have an accelerometer in them and only give accurate(ish) results on perfectly flat roads in a straight line. If you go up/down any sort of hill or round a bend the results are meaningless. You would also be suprised at how many roads are not actually flat. Look for some that go across marsh land etc or look on an OS map. Could be barking up the wrong tree here but something to check out.

I think its normal. G-tech BHP is totally different than flywheel or wheels bhp. G-tech BHP is in its own range for comparison because it measure slopes, aerodynamics forces, etc etc.))

so check different cars with G-tech - only way to compare. Dont compare to manfucaturers' bhp or flywheel.

For example my 1,9 8v makes about 55 bhp from G-tech with lots of efforts.

Yes, do check 0-100 time and try to get decent times. That can be only test to compare to the others.

Or check G-tech on other cars and compare between

OK, mates

Tomorrow i will do some "fine tuning"', ignition and cam timing, because the mechanic says

that the ignition timing was retarded due the pinging.

thanks
