Subframe Bolts

Recommended Posts

KaspaCti

Hi,

Just a quick question,

Does anyone know what torque setting I should use to tighten the 6 bolts holding the subframe to the car? I've had a look in my Haynes and done a search on here but can't seem to find an answer.

Many thanks

Sean

according to the haynes manual, on page 10.2 of the peugeot 205 manual,

subframe bolts:

Front 75Nm

Rear 53Nm

hope it helps.

Brilliant, thanks for that, I must be going blind because I scoured the Haynes manual for ages and couldn't find it :(

Thanks again

Don't mention it. You were lucky i am sat here with not a lot to do, and just as it happens i have my two trusty peugeot haynes manuals next to me.

Although i didn't doubt you when you said you couldn't find it in there, i have found the manuals to be totally useless for some things.

When I was trying to remove a subframe from a scrapyard 205 one day, I managed to tighten the bolts instead of loosening them! :(

Anyway, it didn't take much more than FT before they sheared, so I'd be wary of doing them up too much. They aren't particularly thick bolts.

well i was only using a 1/2 drive ratchet so i can only get about 60-70nm of torque out of it
