Subframe Bolts

Hi,

 

Just a quick question,

 

Does anyone know what torque setting I should use to tighten the 6 bolts holding the subframe to the car? I've had a look in my Haynes and done a search on here but can't seem to find an answer.

according to the haynes manual, on page 10.2 of the peugeot 205 manual,

 

subframe bolts:

Front 75Nm

Rear 53Nm

Don't mention it. You were lucky i am sat here with not a lot to do, and just as it happens i have my two trusty peugeot haynes manuals next to me.

 

 

 

Although i didn't doubt you when you said you couldn't find it in there, i have found the manuals to be totally useless for some things.

they're not in my copy of the haynes manual either , i ended up doing them up to the FT +1 setting

When I was trying to remove a subframe from a scrapyard 205 one day, I managed to tighten the bolts instead of loosening them!

 

Anyway, it didn't take much more than FT before they sheared, so I'd be wary of doing them up too much. They aren't particularly thick bolts.

well i was only using a 1/2 drive ratchet so i can only get about 60-70nm of torque out of it
