keith 0 Posted May 19, 2007 basically i pressed this red "inertia" switch when the car was off, and now, the fuel pump refuses to prime and obviously fire the engine. its on my 205-6 so you may not know much about them unless you have one! anyone know how i can get around this? i've tapped it into place and "reset" it and still nothing. any info appreciated
sonofsam 5 Posted May 19, 2007 Cant comment on the '6 inertia switch, but I do have one on my 2.0L Turbo. On mine, pressing it with the engine off doesnt do anything (unless it's been tripped) Maybe a contact has broken, try another one from down the breakers? Baz 421 Posted May 19, 2007 Or just remove it completely?
sonofsam 5 Posted May 19, 2007 I did ask that a while back, but no one commented, mine has a switched live going through it, so was very weary of doing so! I think it's a good safety feature to keep anyway..
inferno 1 Posted May 19, 2007 iirc it shouldnt have a switch live!!!!! all the wiring diagrams ive seen suggest a break in the earth!!! ok the inertia switch either way, when triggered breaks the contact, so you could make a jump wire for it temporarily, always wise to fit it back in properly though. keith 0 Posted May 20, 2007 Ok, problem solved. It turned out to be the Relay Module, it had come loose when i was dicking around with the inertia switch. Bit of a newbie mistake but i'm glad it wasn't an expensive one! Cheers
