edthedrummer 0 Posted May 19, 2007 First off, i hope this is in the right section, and i apologise if it isn't. How do you remove a sump from a 205 1.8dturbo? All the bolts are removed, all the oil is drained but it won't budge? I read in the haynes manual your meant to cut it with a thin knife, which i did, but to no avail? Anybody know? Cheers, Ed. Grim.Badger 15 Posted May 21, 2007 Hit it harder. I eventually had to prise mine off slightly then kick it off but you have to be very careful not to damage the sump or block. I was careful and still damaged the spacer that the 1.9 has.
edthedrummer 0 Posted May 21, 2007 I think i've probably fubard the spacer then, i was prising it a bit violently. Can you buy replacements or do you not need it?
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted May 22, 2007 1.8 Dturbo won't have a spacer, its an iron block. When I had one that wouldn't come off easily with all the bolts out I used a scraper to cut right through the gasket & then worked it along until I got the sump off. Graham.
