GLPoomobile 958 Posted May 19, 2007 just had the cherry red shed MOTed and they have advised that the rear N/S wheel bearing is on the way out (1.9) beam. It was new from Neat and fitted by the same garage no more than 2 years and 10k miles ago. Seems a bit odd to me!
TEKNOPUG 3 Posted May 19, 2007 Depends on a lot of factors. I fitted a wheel which unbeknowns to me at the time, had a big dent on the inside, to the rear of the car. Because the dent had caused the wheel to be out of balance by a fair bit, it chewed the wheel bearing up in less than a week. They are cheap to replace so it's no biggee

These may be corroded and not seal properly, which again will let water in and it may start to rust. Not sure if these spacer-plates comes with the new bearings, and if not that might be why. niklas 1 Posted May 19, 2007 Also, the hub nut must be torqued with the right amount or the bearing wear will increase!
