ah250 0 Posted May 18, 2007 Hi... My recently purchased 'tired' CTI came with both of the fixing handles 'sheared', that was probably due to being adjusted overtight. I've just fitted replacements (thanks again Steve). OK, the handles have some forward/backward adjustment (on slotted holes) that presumeably locates the pin. There is also adjustment on the 'hook' which is my concern. If I adjust the hook to provide enough force to pull the hood down hard enough to seal/clamp the roof against the front screen, i'm obviously putting alot of force through the handle again. If i adjust the hook so the handle provides 'reasonable' force, I seem to be left with a gap between the hood/screen (only small, say 1mm max and only on n/side???, the o/side seals easily & the handle is nice & free?). I have thought about stuffing 'something' between the hood/hood seal to persuade the seal to fit against the screen...... Any ideas people??? Dave

This is done with the Front-back adjustment on the handle screws, but easiest with the roof semi-open. Also, see how well the hood closes with the windows rolled down slightly, as the front ones are hight adjustable and some clearance can be gained on the rears with adjustments to the main hood fixing bolts - both can interfere with the closing. (Retro-fitted electric windows can be a major problem!) Dave
Phil H 16 Posted May 18, 2007 loosen the two 13mm bolts behind the rear quarter covers and adjust, from my own experience.
