Kennyb 0 Posted May 18, 2007 Ok spotted oil hanging around under the car. Been under and smells like gearbox oil. I've checked driveshaft seals and they are fine (dry to the touch). Its seems to be coming from the joint where diff attach's to GB (well its kind of all over the underneath of the diff). Is there a seal that goes in there? Could it be that thats knacked cos i've checked all the bolts and they are tight (drainplug +washer etc) Cheers guys
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted May 18, 2007 Diff housing to gearbox casing is just a dry joint with no seal, was oil spilt when the gearbox was last filled up? It can take a while to work its way down to the bottom of the gearbox. Graham.

Not really spilt a lot at all only a little bit, and i mean little, but changed it a while back now so it all went, its def comin out tho around that area!! its just hard to tell where exactly from cos everything around the bottom of the diff is coated in it from the leak i'll try all the bolts again, didn't overfill it either
