205 Mi16 Suspected Overfueling

Recommended Posts

Hi Mate,

Yes I spoke to an engine tuner today, and basically told him of the fresh smell of fuel whilst engine running only.

He checked all the fuel pipes for physical leaks whilst the engine was running, and there was no indication of leaks.

He suggested the following measures as a starting point:

New dissy cap (genuine only)

New rotor arm

New Plugs and Leads

Injector cleaner (gas cleaner?) (anybody know if i should use this?)

AND soak the Idle control valve in petrol overnight to clear all its dirt and then refit it.

He said if the the problem remains then whe can do some further checks....

PS: my exhaust is blowing a little, could that be a factor too? (not for the smell but for

overfuelling?)

PPS: Just read an old post that syas repositioning AFM so that black plug is at bottom improves fuel economy - is this really true?
