Using Neoprene Inside Pockets

Recommended Posts

GLPoomobile

Since I've got a bad habit of carrying oodles of small items in the various pockets in my car, I was thinking of lining the pockets with neoprene sheet.

In fact I'll probably put anti slip matts in the base of the glove box, central storage compartment, and drivers footwell shelf, and then neoprene in the door pockets and sides of the above mentioned compartments.

Just wondering if neoprene is the right sort of material to be using. Needs to be easily cleaned, smooth, and have some damping properties to reduce rattles etc. I'm sure it fits the bill.

Don't see why not, it's smooth, cleans easy and im pretty sure its sound damping, you can get Neoprene sound isolation for ceilings and drywalls, some weird contraption. You can alwyas make youself a wetsuit if you buy too much too

Yeah, they come in handy with these leaky 205s :D Especially in this sodding (or should that be sodden?) weather!

Why not use cloth beer mats?

Where do you drink?! Theyve been banned for at least 5 years.

I used to have a festival jacket made from beer cloths when I was at college.

Was great until it rained

you can get some stuff in a roll to line toolboxes, you cut it to size/shape.

Yeah, anti slip matting, which I'll be using on the base of the compartments except the door pockets.

I was wondering how long it would be before the minimalist, weight saving nazis stepped up

I'm 11 stone. Do you really think I give a hoot about the extra weight of a few bits of neoprene? :o
