rossi 0 Posted May 15, 2007 Ello. Owned my 205 GTI 1.9 for 2 days now. It does need some TLC, but not much. My passenger door has been delocked for some reason. There is no locking mechanism in the door. Where the key slots into the door has been covered with a round metal disc and looks to be bonded tight. This means my passenger door is always open. Am i best to get a complete new door? Are all the locking mechanisms the same in all 205's not including GTi's. Ta. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Richie-Van-GTi 71 2 Cars Posted May 16, 2007 locking mechanisms are same in all 3 door models, including the 309's. you should be able to refit the mechanism easily enough, only hard part is removing the disc. Id suspect however all you need to do is add the bar for the door pin inside then you can lock/unlock the door from inside and just leave it delocked. the actual lock part will be there as its part of the catch mechanism.
