Passenger Electric Window

Recommended Posts

Simes

My passenger electric window likes to stay down, after about 10 seconds it may go back up but there is no trend.

It's not switch related as I've tested these, I think it is just the motor being annoying.

Anyone else had this?

Does the motor come out easily?

Super Josh

A few years ago I had a corroded connector on the motor that exhibited this kind of problem. But recently I've had a worn out motor. So I just replaced both NS and OS motor/regulator units, just to make them reliable again and not need any attention for a good few years.

I knew you'd reply and I knew this was going to be the answer!!

It's odd as it's the N/S one which doesn't get as much use, probably why it's dead.

Where did you get them from?

I had this a few years back.

In my case the wire for the switch had managed to get under the window and when it was right down it was shorting out and then refusing to go back up.

Super Josh

I bit the bullet and bought a new NS and OS regulator/motor units. I bought them from Euro Car Parts at £66.91+Vat. :P My nearside one was fine, just replaced it for good measure. You can have it for £15 if you are interested. I can bring it to the South meet.

Sounds like a plan.
