1st Time Changing Clutch

today i took the gearbox of my newly purchased 1.9 as it needs a clutch due to it slipping when i bought it.

i have never done this before and it took me almost 3hours just to get the box and clutch off!!!

mainly due to some bolts rounded off and some that superman did up!!!

iam planning to put a 1.6 box back on, is it a straight swap???

also i was told i should rough the flywheel mating surface with sandpaper before fitting the new clutch,sounds funny to me??? is this guy mad or is there some point to this???

The 1.6 will be a straight swap provided its the same age/model, ie BE3 or BE1

 

Not sure about the sandpaper thing tho

i have never sandpapered the flywheel before and i have changed plenty of clutchs mate.
