Mikey S 29 1 Cars Posted May 13, 2007 did you fill the gearbox oil through top of the gearbox mate? if you have you may have disturbed the wiring for the airflow meter. check none of the wires have pulled out the connector.

GTI_Lee 0 Posted May 14, 2007 if the ignition/coil amp module is faulty. could i still be getting a spark but not powerfull enough? thing is im getting a spark but it might not be powerfully enough. i must admit i did leave the ignition on all night one night.. lee
GTI_Lee 0 Posted May 14, 2007 wahoo!!! its all sorted. i came to it tonight. whipped the tachy relay out and wd40 thats.. then went to ignition amp pulled it off and emery clothed the back of that to make a good earth..double checked firing order. and first turn it went. im pretty sure its a dodgy connectiong with the tachy relay because you can have it in one position and it is making the fuel pump run constant with ignition off aswell... hmmm.. but anyway i have another problem lol i took it for a little drive and there was oil everywhere when i got back came out of the dipstick.. there is a BREATHER on the rubber joint between the AFM + Inlet..which goes under the dissy cap and then comes back on itself through some kind of metal caption???then goes off under the inlet. well i took this pipe off by the inlet took for a drive and there wasnt any oil splashing out.so i take it there is a problem there.i am almost 100% sure that it isnt kinked could there be a prob with that metal kinda thing?? What is it by the way? thanks for listnening lee

Grim.Badger 15 Posted May 15, 2007 i think thas the supplementary air device (SAD) you're talking about. Definitely the SAD which shouldn't be any where near any oil; you haven't overfilled have you How good is the seal on the dipstick?
GTI_Lee 0 Posted May 15, 2007 i might have over filled a little bit TBH because the oil was new and i have it on the axle stands at the time.so might not of got correct reading. also.... the seal has gone on the dipstick so.... imight just wrap some tape around dipstick to help it? thanks lee

If the oil was too high the crank will have churned it up and thrown it out of the dipstick hole, same thing happened to me.
