Spark Plug Order / Dissy Order

hi i ballsed up today changing the leads on my car.... its wuldnt start before i changed then and still wont now.

 

how do i know which one goes where?

that cap doesnt look anything like the one on mine tbh mate..

 

mines a 1.9 8v gti engine.

tbh mate, just look at where the leads go in, and match them up.

Or just take it to a garage...

well i was hoping to try and get her running again today.. like get fuel rail off etc... clean it up and let some clean fuel come through...

na i dont.. only just got the car TBH with you...

 

does it tell me exactly which goes where in the haynes??

 

the lad tht had the car before me has number the connectors on the dissy ( with dots making 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 and HT)

 

but im not sure which end he has done it from.lso i have tried both but it still wont fire ;)

all i need to know is what leads go where.. it seems like its trying to start but just hasnt got the edge TBH.

Not in the slightest if you actually read the replies you've already received & look at The picture!!

 

Thats for a mi16, but the order is the same for your car.

Fit your leads to your cap in that order & they are right even though your cap doesn't look anything like that one.

put the leads on to the cap plug them on to sparks, try and start the engine , back fires out the airflow, then 2 or 1 is out then change 1 on to 2 3 onto 1 so on and so on on 3 it will be rough so when out get that far change 1 at a time, so you dont have to start from the start again
