Mi16 - Gauze In Filler Cap ?

Recommended Posts

Turbo7379

Should a 1.9 MI16 have a metal gauze in the filler cap ? There isn't one in mine but I've just found a spare 8v cap with a good gauze & I was going to swap it over .

Most people take them out as they can brake up and drop in to the sump.

As above, half the reason for some of the mayo in breathing system, condensation etc i presume, then the thing corrodes and drops into the engine, the last oil pump i took out had loads of it inside. Bin it.
