s16 Peggy 0 Posted May 11, 2007 Hi All, I am planning to fit an oil cooler to my S16 soon and was wondering if there are any specific rules about which way up the cooler goes? I have seen several pictures on here with the cooler fitted so the hoses are on the top and a few where the cooler is mounted vertically. My question is, can the cooler be fitted with the fittings on the bottom? My mind is telling me this would be best as all the oil will drain when an oil change is done. Does anyone have any opinions on this? Cheers
deejay391 0 Posted May 15, 2007 As standard the s16 cooler pipes pop out of the top... not sure why tho?
James_R 3 Posted May 15, 2007 Doesn't make much difference, althouh I mounted mine with the oulets on top, so the engine doens't have to refill it every time you fire up the engine so it gets pressure quciker, then you do an oil change remove it and empty it out if you're that worried, I'm too lazy personally.
