Bonzai 2 Posted May 10, 2007 I am after a "half cage" just for the back half of my car. I am not intrested in a show cage, it needs to be a proper one for safety as i have bucket seats fitted now. Can anyone recommend where to get what i after?
GTI6BOY 29 Posted May 11, 2007 If you want a proper one for safty then you dont want a half cage Safety Devices do the king of roll cages, they fit straight in and are a perfect fit. Not sure if you can still get them tho and they were £600, so keep an eye out on ebay or on here The other is a 10 point from OMP which take a bit more work to get in and will also need painting. I got mine for £335 delivered

Bonzai 2 Posted May 11, 2007 thanks for comments, i dont think its all or nothing, i dont want one because im competing or anything as such. Just now i do have buckets, some extra rigidity above my head would be handy, and harness bars too. Paul, i would have preffered something i can either fit myself or get someone local to fit, but i may contact you if nothing turns up. Cheers.
jonnie205 1 Posted May 11, 2007 Go for safety devices, rollcentrecustom cages or get x sport or miles to make you one
Bonzai 2 Posted May 15, 2007 today i took my brave pills and ordered a 6 point SD bolt in cage. I know you cant put a price on safety etc, but i still feel a little guilty about how much its costing should get fitted towards the end of next month if everything goes to plan
SPGTi 2 Posted May 16, 2007 Just make sure that it is fitted correctly. You can have the best cage in the world but if the fitment / welds / reinforcement plates are not up to scratch it will do more harm than good. I am sure Jonnie will testify to this has he has probably seen more crashed/ rolled rally cars than most on here. Steve
Alastairh 47 Posted May 16, 2007 Yeah, i remember me and Alan M seeing a Zx 16v with a cage recently fitted whilst at the ring in the easter, the rears had a combination of M8 and M10 cap heads, and the fronts looked like M6 cross heads ffs...
