What Ways Can I Bring Emissions Down ?

I have been told to put my standard air filter on that will injection cleaner and what other ways canbe made to bring them down a touch ,,, thanks johnny

Unless the current air filter is clogged it will make no difference of any note, and injector cleaner seems to be a waste of time frankly.

 

What is the car failing emissions on - CO (basically running rich) or HC (unburnt fuel)?

Its hasnt failed, its pre cat pre 89 as well so i got a little leavage on that, but its over flueing, just wanting just a cheap way bring them down, instead of failing i dont no if there fine now but just want to be sure ,,, also 3rd port isnt fireing as its missing and taken 3rd lead off to see if it was down and it was what way can i sort that out ? thanks johnny

If you've not checked the emissions, how do you know that they're too high and need to come down?

 

As for why one cylinder isn't firing, it could be a few things - could be ignition related (plug, lead, cap), could be injector related (injector or connection) or it would be something wrong with that cylinder (lousy compression etc). Check and test to eliminate. With it not firing properly on one cylinder it'll smell rich and probably have lousy fuel economy...

ill have to see what happends then thanks, yeah smells very rich and fuel eco isnt very good either, ill have to have it check or try do it myself
