New Tyres Fitted Now Steering Wheel Not Centred

Recommended Posts

Wicker man

first off sorry for the crap title & second done a search but nowt that fits :(

drive my car to my mates to have 4 goodyear F1's fitted in 195/50/r15 to replace the shot 185/55''s

on the drive to his down a straight road the steering wheel was straight & leval

on the drive back same road steering wheel is now to the left a good inch

has the wider tyres put the tracking off a tad?

im going back in the moring & were going to look at the tracking

am i right in thinking that the front wheels should be dead parallel?

I run 1/2 degree toe in, makes turn in slightly sharper and increases stability at high speed.

Seems strange it changed during the drive. New/wider tyres won't alter the tracking but the old tyres could possible have worn "into" bad tracking.

Check the tyre pressures first, if ones really low it could pull to one side and need steering correction.

as mentioned, check tyre pressures and then have a look at your old tyres for irregular wear

was no irregular wear on old tyres

pressusres are 29psi all round

dont think i made my first post that clear its like someones took my steering wheel off & moved it a round abit while we were fitting new tyres lol
