Is The 309 Beam The Same As The 205 One?.

In the title really, is the 309 disk rear beam the same as the 205 disk beam?.

It's slightly wider (about an inch each side) and has thicker torsion bars and anti roll bar.

 

But it's more or less a stright swap.

ok, so would 1.9 alloys be ok on this?, or would they stick out slightly?. im planning to put it on my 1.6.

I found that I needed to trim the plastic arch extensions slightly so the wheel didn't catch. I believe most others do the same, or just leave it and let the tyre wear it down over time :)

That's exactly the setup I've got and it's fine. In fact they fill out the arches quite nicely.

Nice. what parts do you need to convert from drums to a disk beam?.

Just 1.9 handbrake cables, and you'll need to alter the copper pipes slightly as they screw directly into the drums on the 1.6, but the 1.9 has a flexi-hose to allow the caliper to move about a bit.
