brianthemagical 1 Posted May 7, 2007 i have just done an engine out rebuild, prior to which everthiny worked fine but now my front and side n/s indicators arn't working an the back n/s is flashing fast as per a broken bulb. i've been cheacking and from wjat i can work out both of the not working indicates it's not a bulb/similar problem. i've had the fuse board out and found the correct wire (37) and there is continuity so no break. i only have a shody dmm and i don't think it's fast enough to test the voltage so i'm going to get an annalogue meter tomorrow and hope that helps but both bulbs/holders work on the o/s. the earth is fine as well (there is continuity). hope someone has an idea. thanks in advance. inferno 1 Posted May 7, 2007 same thing happened on my sorrento mi16 after i put the engine in on the maiden voyage... look at the earth point on the chassis just behind the headlight/rad, where all the earth wires plug into a big terminal block. give it a wiggle and if it sorts it take it out and clean it up. brianthemagical 1 Posted May 7, 2007 i've just cheacked the earth and it looks ok but the bulb holder still has the same resistance to earth regardless to whether this is connected. i've just tried a diode from earth on plug to battery and from pos on plug to earth and they both work but not when connected together. Retro Pug 0 1 Cars Posted May 15, 2007 This happened to me about 2 weeks ago. After chasing my tail for a while with fuses and relays I cut the connector off the earhing block next to the headlight and re-earthed everything using ring connectors. Now everything works and my headlights seem brighter!! Result!

brianthemagical 1 Posted May 15, 2007 thanks for the replies, it's fixed know/ i spoke to a vehical electrician and he said probs the earth (and pointed out 6 ohms is alot at 12v), he said to put 12v direct to the bulb with the origional earth and see if it works, it didn't so i sorted out the earth block.
