Alter The Amount Of Droop On The Front Wishbones

After a spin around derbyshire it occured to me that my set up would benefit from having less available droop on the front wishbones. Apart from using shorter dampers with less travel is there a recognised way to acheive this on the 205 (not using a thicker anti roll bar)?

I can't think of a reason you would want to do this?

The car bites into the corner as normal, but with less droop available it will only bite to a certain point.

 

Whereas with a stronger anti roll bar the car initially bites as normal but progressively loses its initial response to the point where no more bite is available.

 

I've just read through this and its not easy to follow, but (very) basically limiting droop has the effect of an anti roll bar which kicks in suddenly, not progressively. I could then experiment with removing the front anti roll bar entirely for much improved turn-in

I can't see what you're getting at there at all - limit the droop shouldn't change the arb characteristics, it just means you can't use your full damper travel and lose both grip and traction?

 

If the arb is engaged then the suspension won't hit full droop, which is why you try not to use them on rough roads/gravel/rally car/off roaders.

 

The only anti-roll effect it would have is by lifting the inside wheel off the floor, therefore removing the spring effect at that side.
