Oil Water Sensor I Think,

hello when i brought the car there was to wires unplugged looked like there for water and oil sensor i pluged them in but doesnt seam to off done anything ,,,, theres 4 wires out of the caseing one to my alternater one that was plugged in and the 2 im having probs with,,,,, and on my water temp gauge always reads one when engines off and only goes up a bit even after a good trash and parked up reving the hell out of her, never really goes all the way up could it be them to wires , one tthe plastic caseing is yellow and the other pink if that any help thanks

would help would`nt it lol,, its a 309 xsi phase 1, 87" its the same engine as the 1.6 gti 205

The water sensors on this are on the thermostat housing near the distributor, follow the top radiator hose back. There's a green connector, and a red connector ones for the gauge reading the others for the high temp warning light not sure which is which. There's also a blue connector which is the coolant temperature sensor for the Ecu.

Near the alternator is the sensors for the oil pressure, one is the gauge reading and the other is the low pressure warning. Oil temp is on the back of the sump.

Earth the wire to the body of the car then look at the gauges, you will soon figure out which is which.

cherrs everyone ,,,, i went out the other day and just plugged them in then went out today changed them over and my water temp gauge seams to be alot better and actually working thanks johnny
