sutol 0 Posted May 5, 2007 Stood looking at two engines in the garage today after clearing the rubbish from around and on top of them. Problem is that I have to split the turbo D from its box because I need some parts like bolts, thrust bearing and mechanism (or is that frush bearing ) and pressure plate. The other motor will need checking over, I would like to take the sump off and replace the ends and mains, replace cambelt and clean up the head whilst it is off. Was thinking of making some sort of frame to hold the engine whilst I work on it but couldn't see any obvious way of bolting to the block to hold it steady. They are both sitting on a wheeled frame each, like the breadmen use to deliver to supermarkets (recycled ) Any suggestions bearing in mind that it mustn't cost more than a couple of welding rods and some scrap
inferno 1 Posted May 5, 2007 engine stands are only around 20-30 quid new, or you could make one if you have the material ready. generaly they bolt to the block where the gearbox would.
