205wrc 16 Posted May 3, 2007 (edited) Bilstein service centre in Lutterworth will repair/service your dampers. Give John crooks a ring on 01455 283407. I had my forest insert rebuilt in January, and the total cost was roughly £120 - that included a service, a new rod and two strut top seals V.A.T. and carriage. I think a standard service is about £60 + VAT each Their address is :- ThyssenKrupp Bilstein Service Centre Unit 3, Swannington Road, Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, LE9 6TU Hope this helps Aled Edited May 3, 2007 by 205wrc
Baz 421 Posted May 3, 2007 Thanks very much Aled. Did you mean £60 each service or per unit? Any idea how i can tell if they actually need doing?
205wrc 16 Posted May 3, 2007 £60 per unit. I suppose the only way you can tell is when you push the shock down the tube and its slow coming back out, or not coming out at all, then its time for a service. With mine, it was easy. The insert popped a seal and there was oil everywhere.
Baz 421 Posted May 4, 2007 Ah ok, so i guess they're ok for now really, but probably worth thinking about for next year or so! Again appreciated Aled.
