Is My Piping Shafted!? Exhaust...

Recommended Posts

Anton green

I had my car on a dolly recently when I was doing head work on it. Unfortunately when we took the car off it, the dolly decided to self destruct and the car fell to the ground, probably about 30 cm from the road when this happened (or more like 10 cm with the suspension hanging down)..

Now the car is all rebuilt it sounds a hell of a lot different to how it was before (almost rally car ish) and is way down on power, now could the sound be because the head has had a skim just to make sure it was flat and level or is it more likely a shafted downpipe or shafted manifold (from the fall)?

What do you think? and what is a good way to check for leaks in the exhaust system as I dont want to be waving a candle about looking for moving air around the fuel lines at the back of the engine!

Christ I hope not, even though that would be one good explaination.

I'll check the pipework fist and live in hope!
