TT205 42 Posted May 2, 2007 I've looked on the two gear calculator spreadsheets that are linked to via this site, but each has a different ratio down for the 1.6 gti first gear - which is correct? One says 3.31 and the other says 3.25 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Normski 1 Posted May 2, 2007 Both of them. In the Haynes it's got the BE 1/5 as having a 3.308:1 1st gear for the XU5J And for BE 1/5 and 3/5 it's 3.251:1 on the XU5JA and XU5JA/K. So depends what year your car or gearbox is. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
