Converting Non Pas To Pas 205 Gti

I own a 1.6 GTI and was looking at a power steering kit for this model, how much of a job would be involved in the fitting of this please

 

Has anyone here done the conversion.

not overly difficult, fit pas pump and bracket to your engine along withsuitable belt, fit a PAS steering rack, connect the pipes and fit a resevoir in the engine bay. Sure you can pick up all the parts cheap enough on here since a lot of folks remove the pas to gain a quick rack.

Why would you want to? Clogs up the engine bay, saps power (you'd be surprised how much - I took the PAS of my Sorrento green 1.9 as soon as I got it - was surprised how much more mid range torque there was afterwards). Really doesn't need it, especially on a 1.6.

If you need the bits, I have most of the setup in my garage - the alternator bracket, pump, pipes etc. Few quid and they are yours.

am going to do a 1.9 conversion now so may need this more than before.
