Batfink 201 Posted April 29, 2007 without buggering up anything. Its got four small holes which I take it you are meant to stick something in.........but what can i use thanks!
Mikey G 3 Posted April 29, 2007 The proper tool is shaped like a U and has little hooks on the end. But i have done it with a few small allen keys and a screwdriver and managed to pull it out. You need to push the keys in the holes and pull gently away from the radio as if to put pressure sideways in the holes, this should release the mechanism and you then use a screwdriver to try to pull the radio out of the slot. sherly 0 Posted April 29, 2007 Yup, small allen keys work a treat. Pushing them into the holes releases the little catch (on either side) which allows you to pull the stereo out of the cage.

Bits snipped off a metal coathanger are the right size I think. Once the lugs inside the holes are depressed out of the way the radio should just pull out. welshpug 1,666 Posted April 30, 2007 an easier way to aid removal is to push the unit out from behind, pull the trim panel off on the passenger side of the centre console (you will still need to use the pins, but I got mine out without)
PumaRacing 2 Posted April 30, 2007 It's been a long time since I messed about with car radios but I thought I remembered using coat hangers. Anyway, a bit of Googling came up with this. The last entry on the page is the bit you want. http://www.explorerforum.com/Singleton/web/pages/radio.html
