Clio 1.9d Problems, Its A Tough One

Recommended Posts

ive got a m reg 19d clio to run around in while i finish me 205., the front end was read to fall of when i got it so changed full bottom arms, the brakes pads lasted 2 secounds on car and i began to notice the pedal changing, after driving for a while the pedal would rise up slowly and start biting higher and higher up until if you literally applied 5 mill on the pedal the brakes are on and once it reaches the full height the brakes are on constantly on the front so the car crawls along and obviously kills front pads. ive stripped boths front callipers with old man and both have been cleaned etc but there werent seized anywa alothugh one side seems to heat more than other when breaks and sticking on

if i leave the car a while it goes ok for 15 mins when ya first drive it then it starts to rise again and bite on on its own, im preeety stumped by this and both caipers and fine and the back dosnt stick on, ive replaced one flexi as i kno flexi's can sumtimes trap fluid if there goosed but that hasnt affected it and alos ive changed bottom arms and one rear wheel cylinder and brand new pads when i did caliepers as i though it would of been fixed after that.

any ideas? as all i can think of is servo and ive checked it getting vacuum etc as the pedal does feel same as it would if vacum failed but the brakes wouldnt bikt on still :S so im confused here

regards mick

inferno

iffy master cylinder maybe? you could try changing the fluid too incase its contaminated and expanding as it warms up causing brakes to activate.

could be the servo activating the brakes too i guess. if it were the calipers they would bind but the pedal wouldnt rise on its own.
