rex 1 Posted April 27, 2007 (edited) Hi everyone, Yeah - Brembo brakes off a 406 coupe - well, they're on with my home made wheel spacers and Xantia discs which I still haven't had tome to drill....(thanks Hilgert ) I was wondering (as the engine isn't in there yet) whether people running this mod have changed master cylinder - I remember driving a Mi16 205 with GTI-6 brakes that had mega travel in the brake pedal - will I suffer the same syndrome? I'm thinking about changing it anyway as it looks as if it is going to foul on the 605 turbo engine that's replacing the old 1.9 lump. Any thoughts, as usual, will be greatly appreciated. Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted April 27, 2007 I used the mastercylinder off a 406 (pre 1998 model). Which has a 23.8mm one with straight connections. I think the braking will be useless with the standard one (too much fluid travel to fill the 4 pistons).
rex 1 Posted April 27, 2007 Thanks again Hilgert. Again Will this be shorter in length?
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted April 28, 2007 Will this be shorter in length? Externally the master cylinder is the same length as the 20.9mm standard GTi one within a few mm's. Graham.
